ORGANIZATION : Préfecture Martitime de l'Atlantique.

TIME : Thursday 10th May (9:00-18:00)

LANGUAGES : French/English

TOPIC : The launching of France’s wind energy plan was announced by the President of the French Republic on the 26th of January 2011 due for beginning of May 2011. Therefore the Maritime prefecture for the Atlantic area is planning a working session dedicated to the safety of maritime traffic, both inside and around offshore windmill plant facilities.
This event is dedicated to all concerned by the issues of maritime safety related to offshore wind farm facilities.
The goal of this meeting is to enable all participants to share experience and feedback on all practical details regarding the impact of offshore windmills. The consequences taken into account could be over static and onboard aids to navigation, the measures taken in order to compensate the loss of visibility and ensure the lookout in offshore fields as well as they could include naval activities and rescue operations. This symposium will rely mostly on our European neighbours’ feedback.
